The 522nd Field Artillery Battalion also liberated the Dachau Concentration Camp. It is dated 1944 Hanapepe Kauai. He was in New York. An original World War Two related letter that was written by Flora Okura. I think she is the sister of a Japanese-American Soldier or Serviceman named Hiroshi Okura who was in the 522nd Field Artillery Battalion. This Battalion was part of the 442nd Infantry Regiment which was the most decorated unit in the history of the United States Military. The 522nd Field Artillery Battalion also liberated the Dachau Concentration Camp. It is dated 1944 Hanapepe Kauai. In one area she says,..............I've received a notice of change of address from my brother quite awhile ago. He was in New York.......praying that he's all right...........saw "guadalcanal Diary" today and it was really swell...........It makes you realize what the men are really going through although you can't really know what it actually is...........realized how much a letter meant to a fighting man. I've promised my brother and friends I'd write to them at least once a week........The cover has the send to address of St. Paul Minnesota. The letter has some wear and stain marks.
