Antique Bed Curtain Drape French textile. ~ A magnificent textile, rare and stunning. This textile was found in a chateau where many very very important textiles were found. This is one of the sets that came from this Chateau. ~ this textile is an antique French bed curtain or perhaps even bed cover ?? Beautifully printed using hand carved wooden blocks with STUNNING printed design hand stitched in place. ~ the pattern is a trailing vine, Indienne , I've never seen another like it! ~*~ wonderful floral motif with an elegant ground pattern. The fabric was printed using hand carved wooden blocks, each color requiring a separate hand carved block. The colors include : red, blue, green, pink and beige, and the ground has oxidized to a wonderful warm tone that only time can offer . The photograph that best represent the true tone is the photograph where the backing is pulled over Photo 7 ( I'm sorry for the difference in them, I wasn't able to capture consistently! ) This textile has a backing of a very early light to medium weight cotton that I place in the 1700's. ~( please see my other textiles for matching textiles from this set ) ~ ( I 10,698) ( this listing is in my instagram too! Please follow me , my user name is textiletrunk ~ MEASUREMENTS: This gorgeous textile measures approximately 91 inches long by 71 inches wide ~*~ CONDITION: This textile is in as found, unwashed condition with storage dust . This textile has tears to the printed fabric in places, patches of holes , small medium and large ( please see photographs) There is a corner section that was cut away also . There is fragmenting of the fabric in many places of the Indienne floral. There are hand mends dotted around too! ( There are some storage marks and water marks on this textile on both the front and back. It's very important to view the condition closely using the zoom feature on the photographs ~ This textile is in good condition for its age and use, however it is certainly not without the signs of time and use often inherent in these antique pieces. ~*~ ( condition reflected in the price) Ebay 10698 202201047
