1861 Utagawa Kunisada Japanese Triptych Of Samurai And Drum & Shamisen Musicians. These are 1861 prints of musicians playing a hand drum and a shamisen with a Samurai in the middle. They have no writing on the backs. You may enjoy viewing more of his Japanese collection as I get them listed. On auction, we have a triptych Japanese woodblock by Utagawa Kunisada AKA Toyokuni III. These are 1861 prints of musicians playing a hand drum and a shamisen with a Samurai in the middle. On rice paper, these each measure 14 3/4" X 9 1/2". They have no writing on the backs. These are in wonderful antique condition. They are bright, bold and clear. Two people have black marks on their face, I do not know if that is intentional or not. The old rice paper is worn. The edges have holes and are chipped. There are some wrinkles and creases. As I am not an expert on Asian art, please see my photographs for more description. These are from my friend who is moving to a much smaller home and parting with many of his treasures. You may enjoy viewing more of his Japanese collection as I get them listed. I will be happy to answer any questions and, of course, combine your shipping when possible.
