However, the reverse side is the cream with the blue design! I still can't be sure which is the " front! ". Welcome to The Textile Trunk ~ Thank you for over 25 wonderful years of helping bring these beautiful antique textiles and decorative items to life again! I was so excited to find this incredible group of antique French silk lampas ~ and what a rare treat they are!!! This is a heavy weight, wonderfully sturdy silk, something you don’t often see, with a beautiful woven floral design in soft cream against this rich blue ground. However, the reverse side is the cream with the blue design! I still can't be sure which is the " front! " It's totally reversable ~ This dates to the early 1900’s and is such a fantastic example of French textile artistry. The pattern has that timeless flowing movement ~ elegant, refined, and so easy to use in today’s interiors. One of my favorite things about these pieces is that they are reversible ~ the reverse shows the same design in inverted tones, giving you two completely different looks in one textile! It’s such a special detail and a hallmark of true quality weaving. These are not delicate silks ~ this is a strong, heavy weight textile, making it perfect for so many uses: ~ pillows ~ upholstery accents ~ framing as wall art ~ creative interior projects I have a number of pieces from this same beautiful collection in varying lengths ~ to view them all simply search my store for blue lampas and they will appear! MEASUREMENTS: This piece measures approximately 51 inches by 13 inches ~ CONDITION: This textile work of art is in good condition with signs of time and use. There are storage marks on this piece, it's important to use the zoom feature to see exactly ~ I can't be sure that they will wash out, but they SHOULD. Because of the unused sample condition I'm keeping it in untouched condition for archives. However, a professional dry cleaner should be able to work on the storage marks safely ~ Please use the zoom feature on the photographs to see the exact condition!~ These condition "flaws" are an essential part of each antique textile—they tell the story of a life well-lived, cherished by many before us, and add to its unique charm and authenticity. This is a beautiful antique textile that can be used and enjoyed in so many ways today ~ I love giving these pieces a second life in modern homes, preserving their history while embracing an ecofriendly and sustainable way of decorating. A true antique to be passed down from generation to generation ~ Inventory : 135
