From a Collector's Estate who meticulously collected for over 75 years! All hand painted in colorful, thick relief enamels. Heavy gold gilding, indicative of early pieces. Both pieces Unmarked. Circa 1840-1890. Masterful artistry shows off highly detailed paneled imagery of Peonies (National flower of China), perched birds on branches, butterflies, moths and people. Gilded edges. Highly skillful and executed hand painted enamel interior band and exterior 3 panel teacup and matching 4 panel saucer. Very thin, delicate porcelain, also indicative of older pieces. Photos do not capture the texture left by the enamel paint, however it's brush strokes can be seen and easily felt. This specific piece is hard to find and hard to come by.
