Description
Vintage Royal China Ming Tree Oval Sugar Bowl and Lid, Colorful Bird And Flowers. The lid features gold trim around the rim and a center finial. The colorful Ming Tree decal is only on one side of the sugar bowl. The sugar bowl does not have a manufacturer mark on the bottom. This is a used sugar bowl in very good to excellent condition. The Royal China Company in Sebring, Ohio crafted this beautiful oval Ming Tree sugar bowl sometime during the existence of the company from 1934-1986. I’m thinking the colorful, Asian inspired pattern was made after 1950 due to post-World War II sentiments. I could not date this pattern using the Ming Tree trademark, unfortunately. Replacements dates the pattern to the 1960s. The large, oval sugar bowl has a swirl body that is 7 inches long (length includes both handles) and about 4 wide. Without the lid, the body is 2-1/2 inches high, and with the lid, the sugar bowl is 4” tall. The lid features gold trim around the rim and a center finial. The sugar bowl’s oval opening is about 3-5/8 inches long and 2-5/8 inches wide and is embellished with gold trim on the rim. The colorful Ming Tree decal is only on one side of the sugar bowl. The sugar bowl does not have a manufacturer mark on the bottom. I love this colorful pattern. The colorful pheasant is beautiful and the two tone pink peonies with yellow highlights are gorgeous. This is a beautiful addition to any setting, and could be repurposed to hold many things used at a desk or a dressing table or the bathroom. This is a used sugar bowl in very good to excellent condition. I have a 11-1/4 inch handled cake plate, four 9-1/2 inch plates, several fruit bowls and bread and butter plates, cups and saucers, and serving bowls listed also. Thanks for your interest,
