Early Assyrian National Songs. Two songs were composed by Gabriel Asaad. The book includes QR codes to all 11 newly remastered and recorded audio files of the songs. This project was initiated and realized by Abboud Zeitoune in 2024/2025. This compilation is a selection of early Assyrian national songs, some of which have been recorded for the first time. The texts come from magazines and books by well-known personalities such as Naum Faiq, Yuhanon Dolabani, Abrohom Haqwerdi and Yuhanon Qashisho. The melodies were mainly taken from church hymns or well-known folk melodies at the time. Two songs were composed by Gabriel Asaad. George Hayrabedian has given these melodies a new lease of life with his new arrangements. The songs are performed by well-known Assyrian singers: Linda Hadiko, Pascal Bashir, Hani Safar, Andreas Beshabo, Josef Chachan and George Hayrabedian.
