Description

The yellow Underground Ticketing System (UTS) cards are around credit card size and were used from 1987 until 1993 when salmon coloured cards replaced them; only a few late ones carried simple advertisement. Decoding vital info centrally on the right hand side, machine series starting 01 upwards related to now-closed staffed Ticket Office windows and 10 onwards relate to self-service Fewfare machines, series 31 etc are the more complex Multifare variant. This is preceded by a four-digit National Location Code (NLC) of stations starting 0; higher NLCs are used by British Rail & now National Rail. All cards have magnetic strips on the reverse, most after 1987/88 carry conditions and a 4-digit print order code. TfL still uses UTS in modified form and hugely reduced quantities. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/London_Underground_ticketing Long-retired private seller, net proceeds go to the considerable cost of acquiring these at the time.
