19th C Transcription 1677 York County Maine Land Deed Richard Wood Joseph Roble 4 pages Approximately 5" by 8" Handwritten 19th C transcription of 1677 land transfer document from York County (then part of Massachusetts Bay Colony, now Maine). In this deed, Richard Wood of York, planter , conveys to Joseph Roble (or Robble) several tracts and parcels of land, including property purchased from Samson Anger and Henry Donnell , as well as a tract bought from William Johnson containing about thirty acres of upland near Cape Neddick and York Harbor . The document references multiple earlier deeds dated between 1674 and 1676 , confirming ownership and boundaries along the sea wall , the Rocks , and the Berryes Marsh area. The deed specifies consideration for five pounds and other goods , and was signed and sealed by Richard Wood and his wife Dorothy on April 21, 1677 , before Edw. Rishworth , Associate Justice. The reverse includes acknowledgment and certification of the copy entered in York Deeds Book 3, Folio 13 , recorded April 26, 1677.
