A loose shaft becomes wobbly (puts strain on the motor when extending). A wobbly shaft may cause the Shaft Extension Tip to break off (the 1/2 inch shaft end that fastens the actuator motor to the recliner legrest or backrest). This usually happens to the center motor which operates the legrest (1/2 inch connecting tip breaks off). Look for stress lines 1/2 inch below the connecting end tip. If it is about to break off, there will be a break line circling the shaft about 1/2 inch into the shaft (these are the threaded grooves inside the shaft that holds the connecting tip onto the shaft end).
