The Nile on eBay Transforming Pedagogies Through Engagement with Learners, Teachers and Communities by Dat Bao, Thanh Pham This book identifies three types of influential forces that pose challenges to innovations: socio-cultural dynamics, teacher individuality, and local circumstances. FORMAT Hardcover LANGUAGE English CONDITION Brand New Publisher Description This book identifies three types of influential forces that pose challenges to innovations: socio-cultural dynamics, teacher individuality, and local circumstances. It uses languages, cultural traits, and intellectual heritages in the Asia-Pacific region as an example to show the resistance to Western-based pedagogies due to disparities between the innovations and these local heritages. It reveals personal and professional values that teachers hold and how these values, while seemingly supporting creative ideologies, happen to prevent them from incorporating innovations in their practices. The book discusses how informal educational activities and services that a society possesses could impede pedagogical innovations. There is, therefore, a need for institutions and educators to develop a positive relationship between these phenomena and teaching innovations. 1. Shipping is really slow, which is ok if you're happy to wait a month after the advertised estimated arrival date, which I usually am. Communication from seller is poor, the only updates are from Ebay (once the item is finally shipped). Other than that, items arrive well packaged, undamaged and as per the description. 5 stars for product, quality and value but only given 1 star for shipping time and seller communication.

  2. The Nile Store delivers the goods yet again! And, as usual, well ahead of time. Excellent, helpful and frequent communications/updates from the seller. Brand new book arrived in mint condition (my uppermost requirement with a book, unless it's second hand), and very carefully packaged to prevent damage in transit. Top quality and very well priced. An excellent, ultra-efficient seller. Once again, many thanks.

  3. I got this item in LN condition although it was listed as BN (and sealed). However the response from the staff has been outstanding. Communication worth the highest allocations. They have been very understanding and issued me a full refund, although I have asked to pay me back only cost of the postage. I wish there were more people like them on Ebay. I will continue to purchase items from them. A+++ seller
