Royal Air Force Commemorative Cover No.201 Squadron Royal Air Force 60th Anniversary of The Squadron 16th October 1974 Contains the original information cards as shown This is a limited edition multi-signed version of the cover The photograph included with this cover, is a Russian Foxtrot Class Submarine taken by a No.201 Squadron crew whilst on a North Atlantic Operational Sortie ~~~~~~~~ Cover Signed By:- ~~~~~ Mr. L.H. Riddell Joined the RNAS in 1917. He was shot down in France in August 1918 whilst ground straffing and spent the remainder of the war in a German hospital at Siegen as a POW. ~~~~~~ Group Captain W.G. Abrams Entered the RAF College Cranwell in 1924 and by 1927 he had converted on to flying boats until 1942, served mainly on flying boat units, including No.201 Squadron in 1927. During World War Two, 1942-1944 he was Station Commander at Sullom Voe and Gibraltar. ~~~~~~ Marshal of The Royal Air Force Sir Denis Spotswood GCB CBE DSO DFC The most senior former Squadron member, was commissioned in 1936. During 1937 - 1944 he served mostly on flying squadrons, including No.201 (1938), which was followed by an appointment as Director of Plans, HQ Supreme Allied Command SE Asia. ~~~~~ Wing Commander J.G. Roberts DFC DFM Rtd. JP Joined the RAF VR in 1939 and during World War Two completed two bomber tours in Europe and North Africa between which he served as a flying instructor. ~~~~~ Wing Commander J.H. Harris Was commissioned in 1957.
