Cast as Giuliana, an unhappy wife, Vitti suffers from an unnamed form of depression and malaise. Her quicksilver emotional shifts disturb everyone around her, but they, like she, pretend that nothing is truly wrong. British engineer Corrado Zeller (Richard Harris) seems to understand what Giuliana is really after in life, and he acts upon it by entering into an affair with the troubled woman. Giuliana eventually comes to terms with her physical and mental pain, but this hardly means that she's "cured" in the conventional sense. Monica Vitti's sense of isolation is heightened by Antonioni's (and cinematographer Carlo DiPalma's) choice of colors, and especially by Carlo Savina's bizarre electronic musical score. This is a landmark movie in Antonioni's effort to portray alienated individuals in contemporary life; he places people against towering forms of technology to emphasize their smallness and lostness in the modern world of technological change.

The description of this movie says region free, but there is a label on the unopened movie that says "Region B" which will not play on my Region A player and so I have not yet tried it. I tried to contact DaaVeeDee4, but have not received a reply. It would be helpful to receive an explanation.   2. Order was filled quickly and shipped. Tracking was good when it was in the States but when crossing to Canada, tracking wasn't very good at all. Barely good information. Seller is great, I receive exactly what I ordered and in great condition. Very happy with Blu ray as it is an older movie and it looks great. Would buy from seller again. When contacting seller for more information, they responded very quickly and was completely satisfied.

The packaging wasn’t super secure, but luckily, neither the case nor disc got damaged. The condition was also as the listing described it, too! Hope to buy again in the future!
