Description

This is a Folding Wood Ballot Box for Unified School District #1 in Racine Wisconsin (soon changed to Racine Unified School District.) It is 14" X 12" X 9" in size. The district was unified in 1959 so it would be the date of the creation. The box is in excellent condition and includes the factory stamping by Hubbard Folding Box Company and some had writing in a marker identifying the precincts for the box. The Racine District was innovative as it organized the first consolidated high school in 1852 and was a model for the process then and later in the 1950s. A nice piece of educational history.
