26in Vintage Wallpaper Rag Paper Floral Stripe c1900 Antique Paper Wallcovering. Welcome to The Textile Trunk! I’m so happy to share this wonderful rag paper wallpaper dating from the c1900 era ~ such a lovely survivor from the early days of hand-mixed pigments and block-printed charm! This beautiful vintage wallpaper comes from a small collection of rag paper rolls and fragments that I was lucky enough to acquire. To view the others in this little group, simply search my store for the words "rag paper" ~ The soft butter-yellow ground is paired with muted teal, rose, and sage striping, and the prettiest bouquets of bluish-teal blossoms ~ such a delightful palette for country cottage, Victorian, shabby, and chateau home settings. These early papers were printed using mineral-based pigments that give the design its gentle matte surface and that distinctive texture you only see on true rag stock from this era. A wonderful piece of antique paper history, ideal for framing, lining shelves, creating charming small projects, or simply enjoying as a decorative textile of the past ~ and such a treasure for anyone who loves authentic turn-of-the-century wallcoverings.
