The work was adapted by A. B. Schwenninger, a priest of the Archdiocese of New York, and published by Benziger Brothers of New York, Cincinnati, and Chicago — one of the most important Catholic publishing houses in America during the late 19th and early 20th century. The pamphlet is entirely in German and represents an interesting piece of German-American Catholic immigrant and educational history. Interior text includes question-and-answer catechism instruction regarding the Church, sacraments, faith, Christian doctrine, and Catholic teaching. The rear cover also contains advertisements for other German Catholic schoolbooks published by Benziger Brothers for use in German-speaking Catholic schools in the United States.
