"Bart Starr " is a biography of the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame (HOF) and two time Super Bowl Most Valuable Player quarterback. "Bart the Cool" is the nickname that coaches and his professional teammates called Starr due to his calmness under pressure. The book recounts Starr's athletic life from high school to Super Bowl successes. Collegiately, he played for Alabama, but suffered various injuries limiting his time on the field. On draft day, with the its 17th round pick, an assistant coach looked at the list of remaining choices, and mistakenly thought Starr was a Phi Beta Kappa honor student, and recommended that the Crimson Tide player be taken as he must be smart and could learn the plays. This fluke, this accident, this mistake would result in the franchise achieving historic successes. In a few years, coach Vince Lombardi knew he had a special QB.
