An exceptionally interesting association copy connecting an obscure and apparently self-published philosophical/religious work directly to industrialist Henry Ford during the late 1920s. The work itself is a lengthy prose-poem / moralistic philosophical narrative centered on spirituality, social order, industrialization, atheism, faith, labor, morality, and human brotherhood. The text reflects many of the social anxieties and idealistic reform philosophies circulating during the interwar period in America. Several passages directly discuss: mechanization of society, industrial modernity, labor and social unrest, atheism and materialism, moral decline, and the necessity of faith and goodwill. Because of those themes, the inscription to Henry Ford becomes especially compelling and historically appropriate.
