Hello and Welcome We have a wonderful vintage 1960's-70's framed Jas F Murray color print of the stunning US COAST GUARD EAGLE, nicknamed "America's Tall Ship". The Eagle, formerly Horst Wessel, and also known as Barque Eagle, is a 295-foot barque used as a training cutter for future officers of the United States Coast Guard. She is one of only two active commissioned sailing vessels in the United States military today, along with USS Constitution. The ship was built as the German sail training ship Horst Wessel in 1936; it served to train German sailors in sail techniques until decommissioned at the start of World War II. At the end of the war, Horst Wessel was taken by the U.S. as war reparations. The history of the ship is very interesting and you can find out more on Wikipedia. Framed by Alumin-Art Inc in Norwood, MA., the frame measures 17.25" wide x 13.25" high x .75" deep. The frame and print are in excellent, beautiful condition and ready for hanging.
