This etching is an excellent example of his work. This print in excellent condition. There is a faint shadow around the image. On auction, we have an original etching by Luigi Lucioni. The Birch Grove is signed by the artist on the lower right in pencil and also in the print. Research tells me this was printed in 1960 from an edition limited to 250, we don't know how many survive today. On thick paper, this measures approximately 12 1/2" X 17 1/2" with the image 9" X 12 1/2". About the artist: Guiseppe Luigi Carlo Benevenuto Lucioni (1900-1988) was an Italian born American artist most known for his still lifes, landscapes and portraits. His work was marketed through the Associated American Artists In New York. This etching is an excellent example of his work. This print in excellent condition. The print is bold, crisp, clean and clear with a deep imprint. There is a faint shadow around the image. This has been handled and has a very few light wrinkles. There is on the top around the back from where it was once possibly matted. As I am not an expert on art, please view my photographs for more description.
