Born in Pittsfield, Illinois In 1886,and died in 1980.... Byxbe moved to Estes Park, Colorado, where he had a summer studio for many years. All of the artist’s time and talent was devoted to copper plate etching in his mountain studio. Recently in the last few years, Lyman Byxbe has been honored by membership in the Chicago Society of Etchers, Miniature Print Society of Kansas City, Missouri, and Northwest Printmakers of Seattle, Washington. He is represented in the permanent collection of the National Gallery of Arts, at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C., and the Library of Congress, at Washington, D.C....As this IS titled in the Plare, and NOT a pencil signed title in the margins outside the plate image, And the date of 1928...to us, implies that this is most likely a "Single-One-Of" image...and therefore a Unique One-of-a-Kind...Something else which is interesting to consider, in regards to the date of this image is....It IS a Masterful work, I mean look at the details, with those little Daisies in foreground, and the Twigs & Branches on the ground. ..and the overall clarity....AND he's STILL got 50 more years to improve! .......As usual a low starting bid and NO reserve, thus assuring you if you are the final bidder, you are indeed the winning bidder...Please see our other similarly listed items...we are of course Happy to combine on the shipping..On May-13-26 at 17:31:34 PDT, seller added the following information: Frame size IS-12 3/4 inches X 17 Inches....and NOT ... 12 3/4 inches X 12 Inches...It's a large image....apologies for the confusion....
