Vintage USC Kappa Sigma Fraternity Paddle - "Captured" by Alpha Gamma Delta. This paddle features a unique bit of campus lore. The prank was in the mid to late 60’s but it’s unsure how long this had been hanging in the house (see hanger) as a relic of fraternity history. Unlike modern laser-engraved paddles, this piece has a great "crude" DIY character that reflects the era. This is an authentic, vintage fraternity paddle from the Kappa Sigma chapter at the University of Southern California. Unlike modern laser-engraved paddles, this piece has a great "crude" DIY character that reflects the era. The Backstory: This paddle features a unique bit of campus lore. According to its history, it was famously "stolen" from the Kappa Sigma house by sisters of the Alpha Gamma Delta sorority during a traditional Greek life prank. The prank was in the mid to late 60’s but it’s unsure how long this had been hanging in the house (see hanger) as a relic of fraternity history. It was subsequently stored away, never to be seen again… until now! Design Details: * Front: Features large, hand-drawn Kappa Sigma ( ΚΣ ) letters. * Motto: Includes the variation "AEKAB," likely a specific chapter nod or a period-correct handwritten error. * Finish: The markings appear to be done in felt-tip pen (common in the late 60s/70s) and sealed under a vintage shellac finish, giving it a warm, aged patina.
