Offered here is a vintage classic Children's Nickel Magazine: "Tip Top Weekly No. 555", "Dick Merriwell's Staying Power Or, The Great Game At New Haven", football cover and story, Yale, December 1, 1906 , approx. 10 7/8" X 8 3/8" , DISPLAY ISSUE, Published by Street & Smith, New York . Issued weekly. In over-all poor to fair, the covers are separated at the spine, there are numerous chips and closed tears on cover edges of both covers, the backside edges are reinforced to stabilize them along most of the edges with museum archival filmoplast paper tape, internal oxidation brittleness affecting the right side edges - with paper loss including some text along the edges. VERY THIN paper. Came from the original family - purchased from a gentlemen whose great grandfather owned these originally. MANY of these early one have issues with the left side corners. I really believed they were clipped back in the day - maybe remainder stock?? Strange that the same exact corners on each one seem clipped.
