Description

Girard-Perregaux Richeville Chronograph - 2765 - Men’s Watch. Girard-Perregaux Richeville Chronograph — Ref. 2765 | A Tonneau Masterpiece from La Chaux-de-Fonds. The Girard-Perregaux Richeville Chronograph (Ref. Girard-Perregaux is one of Switzerland’s oldest independent manufactures, with roots going back to 1791. ). Girard-Perregaux Richeville Chronograph — Ref. 2765 | A Tonneau Masterpiece from La Chaux-de-Fonds Here is a watch that rewards the buyer who looks beyond the obvious names. The Girard-Perregaux Richeville Chronograph (Ref. 2765) is one of the most elegant tonneau-shaped chronographs ever produced — a horological statement dressed in the kind of restrained sophistication that doesn’t need to shout. The Watch Watch is in very good condition. Slight rash under the mid-case. Hardly noticeable. See picture. In great shape. The case is a beautifully proportioned tonneau shape measuring approximately 37 x 50mm, with polished two-body construction, curved lugs, and a sapphire exhibition caseback secured by four screws — giving you a direct view of the movement working behind the scenes. The dial features applied Breguet numerals on an off-white ground, with an outer minutes/seconds track and three silvered subsidiary dials: small seconds, a 30-minute register, and a 12-hour register. The date sits discreetly between 4 and 5 o’clock. Luminous dauphine hands complete the picture. The Movement Inside beats the Caliber 3370 — rhodium-plated and decorated with fausses côtes and oeil-de-perdrix finishing, 63 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance with shock absorber, and a self-compensating flat balance spring. This is not a generic ETA ebauche dressed up for the occasion. It is a properly finished movement worthy of the name on the dial. Why This Watch Girard-Perregaux is one of Switzerland’s oldest independent manufactures, with roots going back to 1791. The Richeville line represented the house at its most classically refined — a tonneau chronograph that sat comfortably alongside offerings from far more expensive Maisons. Today, the ref. 2765 trades at a fraction of its true horological value, making it one of the more intelligent buys in vintage and near-vintage Swiss chronographs. This is a collector’s watch for someone who knows what they’re looking at — and a discovery piece for someone about to find out.
