All three appear to date from the late 19. 3 Antique 1800s Victorian Photo Albums ~ with Cabinet Cards, CDV & Tintypes Up for auction is a bundle of three antique 1800s Victorian photo albums. All three appear to date from the late 19 th century and they contain rigid cardstock photographs primarily Cabinet Cards and Cartes de Visite (CDV) or Tintypes. The ornate leather-bound album features a padded leather cover with geometric embossing and gold color accents, possibly gold-leaf fill. Attached are dual hinged brass or bronze clasps decorated with leaf motifs and central faux pearl accents, some of which have come off during its long life. The blue celluloid and cloth album features floral motifs on the front and a metal clasp mechanism, which appears to be missing a piece. Many of the photographs are labeled with the photography studio company name. There are portraits of men, women, children and babies in varying styles of clothing and backgrounds reflecting a time long ago. In this lot of three photo albums all show wear including two that are missing spines, one missing its cover, they have separations, cracking, tearing, rips and other structural deterioration due to their antique age.
