Description

Edge Malkin 1879 Yeddo Polychrome and Gilded Sauce Tureen. The ladle is in three pieces, one small piece still in glued position and the longer piece is loose. Residing in the bowl of the ladle is a trio of yellow and blue birds singing in the nandina. Description: The Yeddo pattern was very popular when introduced in 1879. This example is polychrome with gilding highlighting the leaves and berries with aqua blue making a charming underwater scene with koi. The ladle is in three pieces, one small piece still in glued position and the longer piece is loose. Residing in the bowl of the ladle is a trio of yellow and blue birds singing in the nandina. Sauce Tureens remain highly popular because they’re tiny soup tureens that are gosh darn cute and easily stored in comparison to their behemoth Soup Tureen siblings.
