Hardy Boys #40, Mystery of the Desert Giant, by Franklin W Dixon Copyright 1961, matte picture‑cover (PC) binding, brown multi‑scene endpapers, 20 chapters, and 182 pages. The book is in very good condition. The cover shows wear along the edges and corners. The top and bottom spine edges display wear and scuffing. The back cover has some surface wear. The front cover shows a few small wrinkles in the upper left area, likely from the way the cover paper was originally glued to the board. First endpaper has two 2.5" x 0.25" areas that look like a sticker was removed and tore away the part of the endpaper. Interior pages are clean and intact. Please see photos for details. A very good example of this early picture‑cover printing.
