Wedgwood, Caneware Teapot Prior to 1860 Basket Weave Moulding Chips. Wedgwood Caneware Teapot Prior to 1860 Century Chipped. Wedgwood first successfully made Caneware in 1776. The teapot as shown has the impressed mark consistent with the early 19. This Wedgwood mark used from 1769 - 1860. Wedgwood Caneware Teapot Prior to 1860 Century Chipped Dimensions: 8 ¼” Length including Handle, 3 ½” High including lid, 6”wide Condition: Chips on tip of spout, chips on inside rim of lid, ¾” repaired chip on lid edge, fleabite on bottom. Markings: WEDGWOOD Impressed two indistinct marks This Wedgwood mark used from 1769 - 1860 Wedgwood first successfully made Caneware in 1776. The teapot as shown has the impressed mark consistent with the early 19th century. The molding on this pot is perfect and very crisp, and while it has cracks and dings, it still displays remarkably well. The interior tea strainer attached to the spout is in perfect condition. A particularly handsome teapot that had friends and siblings being used in 1776. A delicious butterscotch color, many are drab.
