Welcome to The Textile Trunk ~ Thank you for over 25 wonderful years of helping bring these beautiful antique textiles and decorative items to life again! What a stunning antique textile! This fabulous French woven curtain dates to around 1880 and is filled with rich, historic charm. Along one edge is an original beaded trim made from alternating wooden and glass beads on a fine cord ~ just the perfect finishing touch!! This is a wool and cotton mix textile, so so so unique and gorgeous! ~ This gorgeous curtain has such a grand, noble feel and would be absolutely lovely used as a wall hanging, incorporated into a period-inspired project, or simply enjoyed for its beauty and history. The quality of the weave is fantastic ~ tightly woven and weighty, with that gorgeous dry antique hand. MEASUREMENTS: This textile measures approximately 119 inches long by 24 inches wide ~ CONDITION: This lovely textile is in as found, not freshly laundered condition. It would need to be dry cleaned, not water washed ~ Gorgeous original condition! 3 of the bead trims are missing and the body has some light wear, generally wonderful but not without signs of time and use ~*~ These condition "flaws" are an essential part of each antique textile—they tell the story of a life well-lived, cherished by many before us, and add to its unique charm and authenticity. It’s such a privilege to be able to preserve and share historic materials like this ~ they bring soul and beauty to modern homes while honoring sustainable, eco-conscious living! E 189
