BARSTOW, ST. LOUIS, MO." and a vertical return instruction appears at left. Clear postmark reads "ST. LOUIS, MO, JUL 28, 5-PM, 1898." A 2-cent carmine Washington stamp is affixed at upper right. Handwritten address is to a captain of the 1st Regiment Missouri Volunteers, sent to Lytle P.O., Pa.
