Description

Vintage Beautiful Royal Copley Deer Planter Vase Doe & Fawn 1950s 9 1/4". The embossed Royal Copley mark remains visible on the underside. There is also a visible line beneath the muzzle that appears to be a glaze/stress line or superficial surface line and does not extend through the pottery body. Vintage Royal Copley deer and fawn planter vase dating to the 1950s, featuring a beautifully modeled woodland doe with her baby nestled beneath her chin. This larger figural ceramic piece has the classic glossy blended brown and cream airbrushed finish that Royal Copley became known for during the mid-century era. The expressive eyes and soft sculptural lines give this piece wonderful vintage character and nostalgic charm without feeling overly cartoonish. Originally designed as a planter or vase, it also works beautifully today as shelf décor in cottagecore, woodland, cabin, nursery, or mid-century interiors. The embossed Royal Copley mark remains visible on the underside. A wonderful collector piece of American mid-century pottery from Sebring, Ohio. Measurements: Height: approximately 9 ½ inches Good vintage condition overall with a glossy finish and strong display presence. There are two very small glaze chips on the doe’s cheek area, as shown in photos. There is also a visible line beneath the muzzle that appears to be a glaze/stress line or superficial surface line and does not extend through the pottery body. No major cracks or repairs observed. Interior shows light age/use wear consistent with vintage planter use.
