This knife for auction is a 2011 issue Case Classics Melon Tester, 5 1/2" closed, featuring Case's "Rogers" Jigged Gray Bone (cattle bone) handles and the factory scrolled nickel silver bolsters. This Case Classic Melon Tester was issued in a quantity of 200 pieces in 2011 and is serial numbered on the front side of the master Spear blade with the official Case Long Tail C and #117. This Case Classic Melon Tester has a nickel silver Case Bowtie shield and the pocket end bolsters are factory scrolled with the bold XX's. A Case Classic Knife refers to someone who earns respect by doing their very best every day. These limited series of Case Classics are shining examples of that ideal, setting the standard by which future generations of Case employees will be compared. This knife pays tribute to long time Case employee, Sherry Southard.
