Description

PfSense: 10x1Gb, 4x10Gb, 20 Cores, 32GB RAM, 256GB NVMe, AES-NI (Lanner FW-8894). You are buying a used but in perfect working condition Lanner FW-8894 network appliance that has been reloaded with a fresh installation of the latest version of pfSense (2.8.1 Community Edition). This device has a VGA connector as well as a few USB ports (to attach a keyboard), so it can easily be managed as a normal PC. You are buying a used but in perfect working condition Lanner FW-8894 network appliance that has been reloaded with a fresh installation of the latest version of pfSense (2.8.1 Community Edition). It is powered by a dual 10 core Xeon E5-2640 v4 CPU, and has 32GB of RAM (4x 8GB DDR4 RDIMMs) and a 256GB NVMe SSD*. In addition to the two onboard Gigabit Ethernet ports, it comes with an 8x1Gb Ethernet module and a quad 10Gb QSFP+ module (Intel X710). I configured the LOM** port (white cable in pictures) as the WAN and bridged the remaining ports as members of the same LAN (Switch configuration). The pfSense configuration page can be accessed at 192.168.10.1, credentials are admin/Passw0rd. This device has a VGA connector as well as a few USB ports (to attach a keyboard), so it can easily be managed as a normal PC. As you can see from the pictures it handled 10Gb traffic without breaking a sweat. Fans are audible but not loud. Smart Fan options are available in the BIOS to lower the speed if neccessary. Pictures are representative of the device you will receive. Comes with power cables and a 16" fiber optic cable (DAC). Thanks * There's also a 32GB cFAST SSD. This will be ideal as a boot drive, if you were to convert this into a Proxmox/ESXi server. ** The management controller (IPMI) seems to be disabled, though there's a LOM card installed with an ASPEED chipset.
