The knives include several hundred pieces including various German, Case, and many other brands. This knife for auction is a 1982 Case Permian Basin Knife Club Trapper, 4 1/8" closed, with a beautiful pair of Case's rich rustic color laminated wood scales and the Case oval shield. The front pocket end bolster is serial numbered with #135.The master Clip blade is etched with "Permian Basin Knife Club", "1 Of 200", and the oil well logo of the Permian Basin Knife Club, which is located around Midland, Texas. The master Clip blade is stamped on the front tang with Case XX SS (Lightning SS) USA with 8 Dots, dating this as a 1982 issue Case blade, while the front tang of the Spey blade is pattern stamped with Encircled C and 6254 SSP. I will explain the significance of the Encircled C in the next sentence. As mentioned, the front tang of the Spey blade is also stamped with the Case factory official Circle C logo. This was how Case designated Case Special Contract Knives back in those early days. Both blades have good "walk and talk" snap.
