You are buying a used but in perfect working condition Infoblox Trinzic 1405 (Supermicro X11SSW*) network appliance that has been reloaded with a fresh installation of the latest version of pfSense (Community Edition). It is powered by a quad core Xeon E3-1275 v5 CPU clocked at 3.60GHz, and has 32GB of RAM and a 60GB SSD. It has 4x 1Gb Ethernet ports 4x 10Gb SFP+ ports (Intel X710) and 2x 40Gb QSFP+ ports (Mellanox ConnectX-3 Pro). I configured the HA Ethernet port (black ethernet cable in pictures) as the WAN and bridged the remaining ports as members of the same LAN (Switch configuration). The pfSense configuration page can be accessed at 192.168.10.1, credentials are admin/Passw0rd. This device also has a board management controller (BMC) with a dedicated port IPMI (white cable in pictures) so you can access and monitor remotely. Credentials for the BMC are ADMIN/ADMIN. As you can see from the dashboard screenshot, it was able to route almost 30 Gb/s of traffic at 30% CPU utilization. That is almost 60 Gb/s of switching throughput, which is close to the maximum 64 Gb/s of an x8 PCIe 3.0 adapter (what the Mellanox NIC has). In other words the reason it couldn't reach 40 Gb/s on both ports simultaneously, is the card not the CPU. This device is ideal for a homalab firewall/switch combo. It can handle the traffic of multiple 10Gb clients without being as power hungry or as loud as most 10Gb switches. Pictures are of the actual device you will receive. A pair of power cables are also included. Shipping to Continental US only, Thanks * I flashed the BIOS with the latest Supermicro firmware including the BMC. The original BIOS was locked.
