Made in the 1990s in China, this round butter keeper features a glossy white finish and comes with a lid. The 2 piece set is easy to clean and is microwave and dishwasher safe. This is a two-piece ceramic vessel designed to keep butter soft and spreadable without refrigeration. To get water seal you put a small amount of cool water in the base of the crock (to the fill line) and butter is then packed into the inverted bell shape lid, placed on crock therefore creating an airtight seal that protects the butter from air and bacteria. This method keeps salted butter fresh for up to 30 days and unsalted butter for up to 10 days.
