The case has a nice engraved back design with vertical striping and a central cartouche area. Inside is a genuine Elgin National Watch Co. U.S.A. movement, marked 17 jewels and double roller, serial number 19796840. The movement has attractive damaskeening and presents very nicely for display. The watch is currently running, but as with all vintage mechanical watches, I have not tested it for exact accuracy or long-term timekeeping, so service should be expected if you want regular dependable use.
