(Cobridge, Staffordshire, England) transferware platters in the Kenilworth pattern, patented Feb. 12, 1884. Maker’s mark: Kenilworth – H. Alcock & Co. – Cobridge – England with patent date. Pair of antique Henry Alcock & Co. (Cobridge, Staffordshire, England) transferware platters in the Kenilworth pattern, patented Feb. 12, 1884. Pattern: Kenilworth – brown transfer design with floral sprays, bamboo, and scenic cartouches with birds and landscapes (Aesthetic Movement, Japanese-inspired). Maker’s mark: Kenilworth – H. Alcock & Co. – Cobridge – England with patent date. Larger: approx. 15" x 11.75" Smaller: approx. 14" x 10.75" Date: Late 19th century (c. 1884–1890s). Condition: Both platters show expected age wear with glaze crazing throughout, some light surface marks and toning consistent with 140+ years of age. No major cracks or repairs observed. Wonderful examples of Victorian English transferware, highly collectible and perfect for display or use as statement décor pieces.
