1910 Germany Arts & Crafts Child’s “Cereal Set” Canisters Spice Jars 10 Pieces. They are made of a cream pottery and stamped with a striking blue on white Arts & Crafts-style border. The vinegar canister is 4” x 1 1/2” x 1 1/4”. The salt box is 2 1/2” x 2” x 2”. These 100+-year-old pieces are in amazing condition for their age, but there are a few dings here and there: the salt box has 2 small flakes on the rim, and the corner has been chipped and repaired with epoxy. These canisters, spice jars, and a salt box, dating from around 1910, were made by the German company “C.A.W.”. They are 10 of the typical 12-14 pieces in a full canister or "cereal" set, and are designed to hold salt, vinegar, barley, ginger, allspice, nutmeg, sugar, rice, pepper, and cinnamon. They are made of a cream pottery and stamped with a striking blue on white Arts & Crafts-style border. This is a child’s toy set, and the canisters measure 3” tall (without lids) or 3 3/4” (with lids) x 1 3/4” wide x 1 1/4” deep. The vinegar canister is 4” x 1 1/2” x 1 1/4”. The salt box is 2 1/2” x 2” x 2”. These 100+-year-old pieces are in amazing condition for their age, but there are a few dings here and there: the salt box has 2 small flakes on the rim, and the corner has been chipped and repaired with epoxy. The barley jar has a small flake off the underside. The pepper jar has a fleabite on the rim. 5 of the lids have some epoxy repairs, and several of the jars have very light crazing. This sweet set displays very well, however. It is quite rare and will add a wonderful antique flair to your kitchen or arts & crafts or deco dining room.
