Vintage Mitchell & Ness Chicago Cubs Ernie Banks #14 1969 Cream Jersey MLB sizeL. This authentic Mitchell And Ness is 100% wool and because it is 100% wool, over the years it shrank from an original size XL to a Large. Sorry for the long description, but this is a difficult jersey to sell from my collection. The Cubs just finished a 10 game winning streak and I am sure Ernie Banks was saying up there "Lets Play 2" This prized jersey was cherished by me and I saved the original tags, which I paid $225 for. This authentic Mitchell And Ness is 100% wool and because it is 100% wool, over the years it shrank from an original size XL to a Large. Unfortunately, over the course of 20 plus years my body went the other way. What makes this particular jersey, so hard to part with is the uniform discoloration over time, which to me enhanced it's personal worth.. The jersey is in incredible condition, no smoke ever, it just discolored in such a fashion that it looks more like it came from 1969 versus 1999. I always wore a shirt underneath it and Unfortunately, I can no longer do that. I could not go anywhere without a comment and it was a great conversational item, and yes it has been to Wrigley. I just replaced it with a new one, which sells for $375 and it is wool blend. Which means that the new one will not shrink, and will not pick up that vintage color I prize. I have preserved this for over 20 years, dry cleaned only, always wore a shirt underneath, and is stain, spot, and hole free. if you are a Cubs fan or baseball fan, or someone who wants to initiate a conversation, this is the jersey for you.
