I absolutely love the rich, moody brown ground paired with these bold floral stripes ~ the blossoms in soft reds, creams, and touches of blue feel almost hand-rendered, with that beautiful stippled detail you so often see in early printed papers. The geometric side borders add a wonderful structure and rhythm, giving it that classic European decorative feel. Dating to the early 1900’s, this piece has a lovely primitive quality ~ the colors are warm and earthy, and the scale of the pattern makes it perfect for smaller decorative uses.
