Antique Tibetan Buddhist Gau Amulet Prayer Necklace Turquoise Silver Filigree. This is a beautiful silver filigree Gau from Tibet. It is decorated with aqua blue turquoise. Black cord can be adjusted for length. Gau and amulet necklaces are made of precious metals, turquoise and coral (or other jewels). Tibetans wear them around their neck -called Gau in Tibetan- amulets are placed that can help heal or prevent disease and serve as a protection talisman. The amulets are usually ‘prescribed’ and made and blessed by a Lama to address specific life issues, such as health, happiness, prosperity, protection and attraction.
