This is a Department 56 Dickens' Village "The Old Curiosity Shop" porcelain lighted CHRISTMAS VILLAGE house. This particular house was originally introduced in 1987 and RETIRED December 1999. This particular house is a harder to find piece due to the limited amount produced and the time since retirement. This house depicts a real London Curiosity store that is still in existence today!! It is from the Charles Dickens Hertiage series and reflects the architecture and customs of Victorian England, the setting for many of Charles Dickens' stories. This Curiosity Shop is in GREAT CONDITION!! There are no chips, scratches or breaks throughout this piece!! It includes the original box, corded light and packaging!! This piece looks to have been very well taken care of or hardly ever displayed. Even the sticker is still attached to the bottom!! This piece would make a wonderful addition to and DICKENS VILLAGE COLLECTION!! Or it would make a great Christmas village addition! Or just someone who loves DEPARTMENT 56 products and collects all VINTAGE pieces!!
