Offered here is a three-piece antique fraternity jewelry set from the college fraternity Sigma Chi , consisting of a jeweled badge pendant, a gold member ring, and a Sigma-Chi monogram stickpin. These pieces likely belonged to a single member and date from the early to mid-20th century , a period when fraternity jewelry was traditionally crafted in gold and often set with gemstones. 1. 1. Sigma Chi Jeweled Badge / Pendant a. The centerpiece of the set is a classic Sigma Chi cross pattée badge b. Central ΣΧ (Sigma–Chi) monogram c. Seven hand engraved stars representing the fraternity’s seven founders d. Rubies and seed pearls set along the arms of the cross e. Black enamel center f. Badges of this style were originally worn as pin-back membership badges, though many alumni later had them converted to pendants for chain wear, as appears to be the case here.
