Description

Vintage Imperial Glass Red/Yellow/White Slag Compote, "End Of Day", 6.2" Ruffled. The vintage Imperial Glass red, orange, yellow and white Slag Glass Compote is a handcrafted, round dish with a ruffled rim and pedestal base, measuring 6.2 inches in height and 6.25 inches in diameter. Made in Bellaire, Ohio during the 1970s, this blown glass compote features a glossy finish and a unique "End Of Day" pattern (slag), whereby workers used up multiple colors of molten glass to create an original piece. This compote showcases the artistry and craftsmanship of vintage glassmaking techniques in the United States. The compote has the company's mark (IG) stamped on the base. The compote is in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks or signs of wear. Please note there are two spots of ash embedded in the base of the bowl (see picture 11) from the day the piece was made.
