Switzerland, 1918 The Gratitude Of Swiss Families To America Medal. I have for sale a 1918 medal from Switzerland to the People of the United States. I believe the medal is silver, it is 1 1/2 inch in diameter and in a mid grade circulated condition. Hans Frei was the medalists. The obverse shows an eagle flying over the ocean with wheat in its claws and part of the American flag in the cloud above. On the reverse at the top, it has a Swiss coat of arms & below the arms it reads TO THE PRESIDENT - AND PEOPLE - OF THE VNITED STATES - OF AMERICA - THE GRATITVDE -OF THE SWISS - FAMILIES - 1918.
