Pre-History collects their earliest studio work recorded for Steeltown in 1967 and showcases their youthful vocal harmonies and pop-soul arrangements. Several tracks were released as local singles, including the regional hit "Big Boy". These recordings are presented in their original, unenhanced state for historical interest. Tracks 1 and 2 were performed under the name Ripples & Waves Plus Michael. This album contains the first recordings ever made by The Jackson 5, recorded in 1967; several of these tracks were released by Steeltown Records as singles.
