Description

VINYL TITLE — ARTIST (YEAR) • CATALOG Artist: Dr. Dre Album: The Chronic Format: CD, Album (First Pressing) Label: Death Row Records / Interscope Records / Priority Records Catalog Number: P2 57128 Release Year: 1992 Country: US 💿 DESCRIPTION Released in December 1992, "The Chronic" is the solo debut masterpiece by Dr. Dre that fundamentally transformed the hip-hop landscape. It introduced the "G-Funk" sound—defined by slow, heavy funk beats, melodic synthesizers, and soulful samples—and served as the launchpad for Snoop Doggy Dogg’s legendary career. Featuring era-defining tracks like "Nuthin' but a 'G' Thang," "Let Me Ride," and "Dre Day," the album is widely considered one of the most influential records of all time. In 2019, it was selected by the Library of Congress for preservation in the National Recording Registry for its cultural and historical significance. 💎 CONDITION disc: Presumed MINT (unplayed) case: Factory-sealed, never opened 🧾 NOTES FOR COLLECTORS This is a guaranteed First US Edition (First Pressing) . Distinguishing Features: Unlike later reissues that were distributed by Atlantic or subsequent Death Row/label changes, this original 1992 release features the Priority Records distribution credit. The back cover explicitly lists the Priority Records Los Angeles P.O. Box (90078), which is the primary identifier for the very first production run. Collector's Value: For serious audiophiles, this first pressing is highly sought after because it contains the original 1992 mastering. It preserves the authentic dynamic range and production grit intended by Dr. Dre, before the "loudness war" compression found on many later remasters. Finding a factory-sealed original Priority-distributed copy is exceptionally difficult today. 🔍 MATRIX / LABEL DETAILS Barcode: 0 4992-57128-2 7 Catalog Number on Spine: P2 57128 Distribution: Distributed by Priority Records, Inc. 1. Absolute flawless international shipping, was fun to see all the stops the package made during delivery, van halen box set was packed professionally and shipped priority without any import tax at all. Item was exactly as described and the only one available anywhere, item was unopened sealed and considered extremely rare from 1984. This was the best experience I've ever had on ebay, all questions were answered directly and promptly. Definitely saving this seller for future purchases. Thank you

  2. The records were as described, honest seller. I wish I had information from seller that the tracking wasn’t to my address, that it was going to a different address, and then being forwarded. Following the tracking had me concerned. So I recommend buyers communicate with the seller to understand that the tracking may not (at least in my case) indicate that it might go to a different address. Once it was forwarded I did receive tracking to my home. Still, great records, safe packaging.
