These are an excellent pair of vintage "Modes de Paris" fashion prints from the French magazine Petit Courrier des Dames, which was published between 1822 and 1865. The prints are colored engravings and were issued every five days with the magazine. They illustrated specific garments and accessories, often listing the names and addresses of the Parisian dressmakers and jewelers where they could be purchased. The magazine had a near monopoly in the fashion world during its time and was popular internationally. The prints are housed in carved oval wood frames.
