The Land of Oz by L. Frank Baum Hardcover Early Edition, No Color Plates. Published in Chicago and illustrated by John R. Neill, this edition by Reilly and Lee is a great addition to the collection of any Oz fan. This Reilly and Lee edition contains NO color plates and was probably published as a popular edition in the 1930’s (possibly 1939). “The Land of Oz, Popular Edition” copyright in 1904 by L. Frank Baum, is a hardcover book that serves as a sequel to the classic “Wizard of Oz”. Published in Chicago and illustrated by John R. Neill, this edition by Reilly and Lee is a great addition to the collection of any Oz fan. This Reilly and Lee edition contains NO color plates and was probably published as a popular edition in the 1930’s (possibly 1939). In 1918, Reilly and Lee Publishers became the successor publishing company to Reilly and Britton, who published the original edition of “The Marvelous Land of Oz” in 1904. Fair condition. Book is missing front inside cover page. Back cover page is torn. Small holes on copyright page. Several other small holes on inside pages. Spine is split. Pages are clean, but yellowing.
